What Are Memorial Societies?
There are three societies in B.C. Memorial Society of British
Columbia is the largest, with over 200,000 members, founded in 1956.

Society Directory lists local phone numbers. How Do Memorial Societies Work? You join the society to pre-plan your own funeral or the funeral of another. You pay $10 to $20 for a lifetime membership and complete two forms: an application for a membership card and an arrangement form on which you choose what you want and don't want for your funeral. You may pre-pay your funeral costs or merely register your choices which are kept on file to be made available to your family upon your death. (The societies recommend you also discuss your choices with your family and keep written instructions as an attachment to your will.)

accompanies your application form. The Memorial Society of British
Columbia provides a detailed price list that includes specific service costs and
items such as cremations, urns and caskets. Information:
