This fee includes everything legally required for an IMMEDIATE DISPOSITION in British Columbia:

  • Transfer of the deceased from the place of death to  the funeral home

  • Sheltering the deceased

  • Providing the rigid combustible container required by law

  • Transfer of the body and container to the crematorium

  • Cremation fees

  • Gathering the ashes in a container supplied by the crematorium  (For explanation of 'ashes', see Cremation), and

  • All the documentation required by the Province of British Columbia (including the Province of British Columbia Certificate of Death) which are supplied by the funeral provider.

  • The $25 BPCPA Provincial 'Death Tax'

  • The Memorial Society records fee

  • Applicable GST

This price would NOT include such additional matters as:

  • A funeral ceremony or memorial service

  • Embalming

  • A public viewing

  • Flowers

  • A published obituary or death notice

  • An urn, or

  • A permanent memorial:  burial, an urn wall (niche), or scattering the ashes in a designated rose or scattering garden.
